NORMAL, Ill. - Senior Macy Ludwig from Effingham, Illinois, representing St. Anthony, is positioned within the top-five after two rounds of play at the Redbird Invite at Weibring Golf Club. The eighth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team stands 12th in the tournament following rounds of 321 and 308 on Sunday, September 8.
In a predominantly Division I field, Illinois Wesleyan's 'A' team leads Division I competitors IU Indy and Valparaiso. Additionally, the Titan 'B' team holds the 14th position with a score of 634, 17 strokes ahead of Valpo.
Illinois State tops the team leaderboard at 13-under (563), followed by Little Rock (590) and Butler (591) in second and third place, respectively. Northern Illinois ranks fourth, while Bradley completes the top-five.
Ludwig was one of four players in the 93-player field to record scores of par-or-better in each of the first two rounds. She is seven strokes behind ISU's Morgan Jones who currently leads.
Senior Kylie Hundman from Bloomington, Illinois, representing Central Catholic, led the 'B' team and is tied for 37th at nine-over with a score of 153.
The final round is scheduled for tomorrow, September 9, starting with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
