Illinois State women's tennis concluded the second day of the Redbird Invitational with a total of four singles wins and two doubles victories.
In singles competition, Silvia Pomarolli led the Redbirds by defeating Bradley University's Sirbu in straight sets with a 6-4, 6-2 mark. At No. 3, Emma Lindh defeated Stone of Valparaiso by a score of 6-4, 7-5.
Elena Jankulovska, Silvia Pomarolli, and Emma Lindh advanced to their respective singles championships tomorrow.
Lindh and Lana Caculovic led doubles play at the No.1 spot as they bested Ushio/Liu of UIC by a final score of 8-4. At No. 3, Nuria Sanz and Elena Jankulovska also defeated Fiallo and Duva of Marquette University by a score of 8-6.
Sanz and Jankulovska advanced to the championship flight where they will take on Bradley at No. 3 doubles. The Redbirds will open up day three at 9 am.
