Eva Reyes, a junior from the Illinois State swimming and diving team, has been chosen to represent Illinois State University (ISU) at the 2024 NCAA Inclusion Forum. The event will take place in Indianapolis from April 24-26 at the Hyatt Regency.

Reyes is set to participate in the first-ever Student-Athlete Symposium, which will occur alongside the Inclusion Forum. This symposium aims to engage student-athletes in programming that equips them to contribute actively to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) initiatives within their teams and communities.

"We are extremely proud that Eva was selected to represent Illinois State and her fellow Redbird student-athletes at the inaugural Student-Athlete Symposium as part of the NCAA Inclusion Forum," said ISU Interim Director of Athletics Dr. Jeri Beggs. "This will be a tremendous opportunity for her to hear from inspiring keynote speakers and learn alongside other talented student-athletes from all over the country."

The NCAA Inclusion Forum gathers leaders from higher education and intercollegiate athletics to enhance DEIB efforts. It includes educational programming focused on disability, international issues, LGBTQ matters, race/ethnicity, and women's issues.

The forum features panels with notable keynote speakers such as South Carolina National Champion head coach Dawn Staley, ESPN basketball analyst LaChina Robinson, Central Florida Professor Dr. C. Keith Harrison, and Los Angeles Times columnist LZ Granderson.

"I'm extremely excited and honored to represent ISU and all the Redbirds in such an important event," Reyes expressed. "I can't wait to learn from all the amazing speakers and meet student-athletes from around the country."

Reyes recently concluded a successful junior season by winning her third consecutive Missouri Valley Conference 1M Dive championship. She became only the second diver in ISU history to achieve this feat. Additionally, she earned First Team All-MVC honors for both 1M and 3M boards for three straight seasons.
