The Redbirds faced a tough defeat in their final game of the series against UNI, losing 19-1 on Sunday. This loss marks the first time this season that the Redbirds have been swept in a series. The team's record now stands at 19-30 overall and 13-11 in conference play.

Addison Masching contributed with her second career home run, while Kaili Chval managed two hits during the game. Overall, the Redbirds achieved four hits.

Key performances included Delainey Bryant going 2-for-3 and Kaili Chval achieving a perfect 2-for-2. Addison Masching went 1-for-2 with a home run, an RBI, and a run scored.

In terms of pitching, Hannah Meshnick took the loss with a performance that included allowing five hits and four runs over 2.1 innings pitched. Paige McLeod and Annie Volkers also saw action on the mound but struggled to contain UNI's offense.

The game began with promising back-to-back singles from Delainey Bryant and Kaili Chval for the Redbirds, but they failed to score in the top of the first inning. UNI took control in the bottom of the second inning by scoring first and continued to build pressure throughout the game.

Addison Masching's solo home run in the fourth inning put Illinois State on the scoreboard. However, UNI responded strongly by scoring 16 runs in the bottom of that inning, ending the game early due to run-rule regulations.

Looking ahead, Illinois State will host Evansville for their final conference series of the regular season at Normal. The team plans to celebrate Senior Day during Sunday's game of this upcoming series.
