Two-time MVC Coach of the Year, Breanne Hall, has announced that Lory Paradis will join the Illinois State women's golf team for the 2024-25 season. Paradis is transferring from Fresno State as a graduate student with one year of eligibility left.
"I am excited to welcome Lory to the Redbird family," said Hall. "She is an extremely hard worker who brings with her a wealth of collegiate tournament experience. This is a key addition for us as we are losing 5 seniors this year. Lory is a natural leader and will be a wonderful mentor to our incoming freshman. Her golf swing mechanics are very sound, and she shows maturity in her course management decisions. Lory is a driven individual who continuously pushes herself and those around her to strive for daily improvement."
Paradis did not compete during the 2023-24 season but participated in seven tournaments in 2022-23, achieving an average score of 78.33 over 21 rounds. Her best performance was at the Fresno State Classic, where she tied for 38th place with scores of 75, 73 (her season-low), and 82, totaling 230.
In her sophomore year (2021-22), Paradis played five tournaments with an average score of 79.27 over 15 rounds. Her top finish was at The Gold Rush tournament, tying for 26th place with a total score of 232.
During her freshman spring-only season in 2021 due to COVID-19 restrictions, she competed in six tournaments averaging 77.5 strokes per round.
Jinyoung Yun, Paradis's former teammate at Fresno State, was named MVC Golfer of the Year for the recent season under Hall's guidance.
The Redbirds are preparing for competition at the East Lansing Regional after winning their conference championship by twelve strokes.
