The Missouri Valley Conference has announced that six Illinois State softball players have been named to All-MVC teams for their performance during the 2024 season. The selections highlight the achievements of several key players on the team.
Among those honored, junior catcher Bella Wilkerson, junior second baseman Delainey Bryant, and freshman designated player Adisyn Hopkins received First Team selections. Freshman pitcher Paige McLeod and junior outfielder Addison Masching were named to the Second Team. Additionally, Jayden Standish earned a spot on the MVC All-Defensive team for the second consecutive year.
Wilkerson from Mokena, Illinois, excelled as a catcher with notable stats including a .356 conference batting average and a .913 OPS. She recorded 26 hits, two home runs, and 15 RBIs during conference play.
Bryant from Mattoon, Illinois, made her second appearance on the All-MVC First Team after previously being selected in 2022. Her consistent performance included a 31-game streak of reaching base and she was recognized as MVC Player of the Week on March 26.
Hopkins from Shawnee, Kansas, had an impressive freshman season earning her first All-MVC accolade with a .370 batting average and .830 OPS.
Masching from Pontiac, Illinois secured her first Second Team selection with strong contributions both at bat and in the field.
McLeod from Danville, California also achieved her first Second Team selection with a standout pitching record including two no-hitters this season.
Standish from Lexington, Illinois continued to show defensive prowess at third base with significant assists and double plays turned.
Illinois State will host the upcoming MVC Tournament in Normal from May 8-11. They are set to play against either Bradley or Valparaiso on May 9.
