After a successful sweep of Augustana College, Illinois Wesleyan University's baseball player Louis Perona was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Hitter of the Week. This is the first time Perona has received this honor, marking the fifth such award for the Titans this season.

Perona played a significant role in his team's success against Augustana. The senior from Chicago had an impressive week, contributing to five Titan victories with four doubles and one triple. He also made key defensive plays, including a diving catch that ended an inning when the opposing team was threatening to score.

During the week, Perona achieved a batting average of 10-for-19 and maintained a slugging percentage of .842. He also recorded four steals, further enhancing his performance.

In conference standings, Perona is currently second in batting average, third in hits, and fourth in both on-base and slugging percentages. He ranks seventh in runs scored.

The Titans will continue their CCIW play on Wednesday, April 7, at Wheaton College with the game starting at 6 p.m.
