Illinois Wesleyan University's men's basketball team has seen significant recognition this season, with two players receiving All-Region honors. Junior guard Nick Roper from St. Louis, Missouri, was awarded First Team All-District 8 honors by the National Association of Basketball Coaches and Second Team All-Region status by D3hoops.com. Senior Luke Yoder from Normal, Illinois, also earned Second Team All-Region recognition from D3hoops.com.
Roper played a crucial role in leading Illinois Wesleyan to win the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Regular Season Championship outright. He averaged 12.4 points per game over 27 games and was the team's top rebounder with an average of 5.9 rebounds per game. Roper's performance included five games where he scored over 20 points and three double-doubles during the season.
Yoder, who also received First Team All-CCIW selection, served as the primary floor general for IWU, averaging 10.7 points per game. He led the team with 106 assists and had a shooting percentage of 44.3% from the floor while maintaining an impressive free throw percentage of 81.3%.
Both players contributed significantly to IWU's overall record of 19-8 and their league-leading CCIW mark of 14-2, securing their third conference title in four years.
