Senior Jacque O'Neill from Harbor Springs has been recognized as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Women's Golfer of the Week. This is the first time O'Neill has received the league honor, announced on Wednesday, April 2.
O'Neill is the third Titan to receive this recognition in the current season, following her teammates Macy Ludwig, who achieved the honor twice, and Grace Fagan. Her achievement comes after securing consecutive top-10 finishes.
She participated in the Division II Augustana (SD) Spring Invite on March 13-14, tying for eighth place. O'Neill managed to score 156 over 36 holes amid challenging gusty winds, with scores of 79 and 77. Her performance continued with a runner-up finish at the WashU Spring Invite on March 22, after the second round was canceled due to rain. Her opening round score of 72 was just one stroke shy of her career-low.
The Illinois Wesleyan team is set to compete again at the Wartburg Spring Invite slated for April 5-6. The event will be held at the Prairie Links Golf Course in Waverly, Iowa.
