The Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team started strong at the Golfweek October Classic, held at the Raven Golf Club in Sandestin, Florida. Quinn Clifford from Illinois Wesleyan delivered a notable performance with a five-under 66, tying for second individually. He is one stroke behind Carnegie Mellon's Justin Chan, who led the field with a six-under 65. Juney Bai and Bobby Beaubien also contributed to the team's standing by finishing below par.
The competition features 25 teams and 125 players. St. John's and Carnegie Mellon are tied for fourth place with scores of 282. Second round play is scheduled to continue on October 16, starting at 8:20 a.m. Eastern Time.
