Illinois Wesleyan volleyball hosts Augustana in CCIW quarterfinals

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's volleyball team is set to face Augustana College in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament Quarterfinals on Tuesday, November 7. The match will begin at 7 p.m. at the Shirk Center, with Illinois Wesleyan holding the No. 4 seed and Augustana as the fifth seed.

The Titans come into this match on a nine-game winning streak, having recently defeated Aurora University in four sets during their Senior Day event on November 4. Sophomore Taylor French led with 27 kills, matching her career-high performance. Junior Morgan Harrington contributed nine kills, while senior Jordan Pierce recorded a career-high of 46 assists. Freshman Olivia deGuzman led defensively with 13 digs.

French has been a standout player this season for Illinois Wesleyan, ranking within the top-10 nationally in several categories including kills and points per set. Senior Lily Summers and junior Morgan Harrington have also been key contributors offensively.

Pierce leads the team in assists with a total of 482 this season, averaging over eight per set. French also leads in service aces with 48 to her name.

Defensively, French has accumulated the most digs for the Titans with an average of over three per set. Eleanor Palmer has made significant contributions at the net as a freshman with a team-leading total of 68 blocks.

This quarterfinal marks the 46th meeting between Illinois Wesleyan and Augustana since their first encounter in 1994. The Titans hold a slight advantage in their series history against Augustana.

In another CCIW Quarterfinal match-up happening concurrently, Elmhurst University will play against Carthage College. The winners from these matches will proceed to compete against Millikin University and North Park University on November 9.

The match between Illinois Wesleyan and Augustana will be available via live stream for those unable to attend in person.
