The Illinois Wesleyan University women's volleyball team secured a spot in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament semifinals with a 3-1 victory over Augustana College on Tuesday, November 7. The match ended with set scores of 25-15, 25-19, 21-25, and 25-21.

Key performances came from senior Jordan Pierce and sophomore Taylor French, both achieving double-doubles. Pierce provided a career-high of 48 assists along with 13 digs. French contributed a career-high of 29 kills and tied for the team lead in digs with senior Faith Washko at 19 each. Other notable performances included seven kills each from senior Taylor Babec and junior Morgan Harrington.

Illinois Wesleyan dominated defensively with a total of 101 digs against Augustana's 89. Senior Lily Summers recorded a personal best of 17 digs. Freshmen Olivia deGuzman and Sophia Feeney added to the team's defensive efforts with 14 and 10 digs respectively.

In terms of net defense, Harrington led with four blocks while Babec added three as IWU held an advantage over Augustana. Offensively, the Titans registered a total of 62 kills on a .212 attacking percentage compared to Augustana's .142 clip.

The Titans' performance was marked by strategic plays that erased early leads by Augustana, including effective blocking combinations by Palmer and Harrington, which opened up significant leads during sets. A critical service error by Augustana sealed their fate in the fourth set, allowing IWU to advance to the semifinals.

Illinois Wesleyan will now face North Park in Chicago on Thursday, November 9 at 7 p.m., as they continue their journey in the CCIW Tournament.
