The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team is preparing to face Washington University in St. Louis on Wednesday, September 20. The match will take place at Neis Field with a scheduled kickoff at 5 p.m.

The Titans have had a challenging start to the season, currently holding a record of 1-6-0. Illinois Wesleyan recently concluded a series of five consecutive away games, three of which were against nationally-ranked teams according to the latest United Soccer Coaches poll. Their most recent game ended in a 3-0 defeat by the Sewanee Tigers on Sunday, September 17 in Sewanee, Tennessee. Junior goalkeeper Kayla Borg from McHenry, Illinois-Cary Grove achieved double-digit saves in three out of the five matches and recorded a career-high of 17 saves against Hope College.

Historically, WashU has posed significant challenges for the Titans since their first encounter in 2000. The Bears lead the series with a record of 13-5-5 and have won the last four meetings between the two teams. In their previous match on October 25, 2022, Illinois Wesleyan narrowly lost with a scoreline of 3-2.

The upcoming contest will begin at 5 p.m., and fans can follow along via live stream or check live stats online.
