Facing a formidable opponent, the Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team was defeated 3-0 by Washington University in St. Louis on September 20 at Neis Field. The Bears, currently ranked fourth, established their dominance early with a goal in the second minute of play. They extended their lead with two more goals in the 24th and 36th minutes, concluding the first half with a 3-0 advantage.

Audrey Hofstetter from Gilbert, Arizona made her season debut as goalkeeper for the Titans. During the first half, she recorded four saves. Despite keeping WashU scoreless throughout the second half, Hofstetter ended with nine total saves and three goals allowed over the full match duration.

Looking ahead, Illinois Wesleyan will begin their College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin schedule on September 23 against Carthage College at Neis Field. The game is set to start at 1 p.m., kicking off a doubleheader event that includes both men's and women's teams.
