BLOOMINGTON, Ill - The Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team concluded their regular season with a 6-0 defeat against North Central College, the champions of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Regular Season. The match took place on Saturday, October 21. The Titans currently have a record of 3-12-2 overall and 2-5-1 in the CCIW. Their chances of entering the CCIW tournament now depend on the results of upcoming league games on Wednesday.
North Central College improved to 15-2 for the year, maintaining an undefeated record of 7-0 in the CCIW, and secured the regular season conference title with this victory. During the game, North Central scored five goals within a span of 12 minutes, establishing a decisive lead.
Freshman Adriana Ruffolo from Bloomingdale, Illinois managed six saves for Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU), as they were outshot by North Central College with a total shot count of 23 to IWU's four.
The match marked the conclusion of the regular season for IWU. Despite this loss, their postseason prospects remain uncertain as they currently rank sixth in league standings with seven points.
