The Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team concluded its spring break trip with a victory over the University of Puget Sound, securing their third consecutive win. The Titans emerged victorious with a score of 17-6, improving their season record to 4-2, while Puget Sound's record fell to 2-3.

Key players for IWU included senior Britney Maldonado from Hoffman Estates, Illinois, who recorded 11 points with three goals and eight assists. Junior Mia Fiandaca from St. Charles, Illinois contributed significantly with seven goals and an assist. Sophomores Sadie Newton, Carleigh Fountain, and Devon Hanson each added two goals to the team's tally.

Bri Kiser, a junior from Crown Point, Indiana, performed strongly in goal by making six saves and allowing six goals. She also contributed three ground balls to the team's efforts.

The Titans dominated in various aspects of the game with a lead in shots (32-15), ground balls (24-15), and caused turnovers (18-10). They also succeeded in clearing attempts at a rate of 15-for-18 compared to Puget Sound's 13-of-20.

Kiser initiated the game with a crucial save during Puget Sound's first possession. Devon Hanson scored first for IWU after maneuvering past the Loggers' defense. Maldonado continued her strong performance by scoring shortly thereafter.

Illinois Wesleyan maintained control throughout the match, extending their lead significantly before halftime and continuing their dominance into the second half. Despite a brief response from Puget Sound breaking IWU's scoring streak, the Titans quickly regained momentum.

With this victory concluding their west coast trip, Illinois Wesleyan will next face Calvin University at home on March 20 at Tucci Stadium.
