The Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team has taken the lead after the first round of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Spring Fling. Competing at Riverside Golf Course, the team managed a score of 317 on Friday, April 19.

Junior Macy Ludwig led her team with a score of three-over 75, placing her three strokes ahead in a field of 84 players. Seniors Emma Thorman and Lexi Onsrud both scored 79, tying them for fourth place. Notably, Thorman made an eagle on the par-five 16th hole.

Illinois Wesleyan holds a twelve-stroke lead over Dubuque, which is in second place with a score of 329. Aurora follows in third with 332, while UW-Stout and UW-Whitewater are fourth and fifth respectively.

The final round is set to continue on April 20, beginning at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.
