Silvia Pomarolli and Lana Caculovic from the Illinois State University (ISU) women's tennis team are set to participate in the ITA Midwest Regionals at Ohio State University. The event, scheduled from October 10-14, marks the second road match of the fall season for ISU. The team aims to build on their performance from last weekend's MVC Individual Championships.
The tournament will host 18 schools including Illinois State, Bowling Green, Bradley, DePaul, Eastern Michigan, Illinois, Marquette, Michigan, Michigan State, Northern Illinois, Northwestern, Notre Dame, SIUE, Toledo, Valparaiso, Western Michigan, Wisconsin and Youngstown State.
At the recent MVC Individual Championships, ISU secured 12 singles victories and two doubles wins. Notably, Elena Jankulovska and Nuria Sanz achieved a win against UIC. Other players like Silvia Pomarolli and Lana Caculovic also contributed with multiple victories over three days.
Nuria Sanz stood out by winning her second title of the season in Flight Three at No. 3 singles during the MVC Individual Championships. She previously won the Flight 5 title at last year's championships.
