Illinois Wesleyan University's women's volleyball team is set to participate in the Elmhurst University tournament on Friday, October 11. The Titans, currently holding a 12-5 record, will compete against Wartburg College at 2 p.m., followed by a match against the University of Wisconsin-River Falls at 4:30 p.m.

The team enters the tournament after a decisive victory over Carthage College, maintaining their undefeated status in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) with a 5-0 record. Key performances came from junior Taylor French, who recorded 15 kills and seven digs, and sophomore Cailin Shannon, who achieved eight kills with an impressive .538 attack percentage.

French leads the Titans' offense with 258 kills this season, averaging 4.23 per set. Junior Hannah Tellor and freshman Alex Bardouniotis also contribute significantly to the team's offensive efforts. Setters Sophia Feeney and Abby Erdman have been instrumental in orchestrating plays for Illinois Wesleyan.

Defensively, Kannyn Boyd stands out as libero with an average of 4.83 digs per set. French is close to reaching a milestone of 1,000 career digs. Eleanor Palmer leads in blocks for the team.

Illinois Wesleyan has historically performed well against Wartburg College, leading their series 5-1 since it began in 2002. Their last encounter resulted in a sweep for IWU on September 15, 2023. The upcoming match against UW-River Falls marks their 17th meeting since they first played in 1996; UWRF currently leads the series but IWU won their last matchup on October 19, 2018.

Live streams and statistics for both matches will be available through Elmhurst's services on IWU's sports website.
