BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team is preparing to face Knox College on Saturday, September 21. The match will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Nies Field.

The game holds special significance as it honors children and teens who have experienced a pediatric brain tumor or cancer diagnosis. This season, the team has partnered with the pediatric brain tumor foundation's VS. CANCER program to support child life programs and research into pediatric brain cancer. Since its inception in 2013, VS. CANCER has collaborated with numerous athletes to combat pediatric cancer.

Illinois Wesleyan enters the match with a record of 4-0-1, following a decisive 3-0 victory over Monmouth College on September 18. In that game, sophomore Matthew Perchik from Glenview, Illinois scored twice in the second half, while junior Logan Tierney from Bloomington, Illinois also found the net.

Knox College currently holds a record of 2-4-1 after being defeated by North Central College with a score of 6-0 in their last outing.

Historically, Illinois Wesleyan and Knox have faced each other 13 times since their first encounter in 1995. In their most recent meeting on September 19, 2023, Knox emerged victorious with a score of 3-1.

Kickoff for Saturday's match is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Neis Field.
