For the first time in her collegiate career, a senior from Illinois Wesleyan University has been recognized as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Runner of the Week. The honor was announced by the league office on Tuesday, September 17.
The athlete earned this accolade following her performance at the Division I Redbird Invite held last week. In a competitive field at Illinois State University, she recorded a time of 22:53.60, placing her among the top 20 finishers out of 89 participants. Notably, she was the highest-placing Division III runner, securing 19th place overall. Her efforts contributed to the Titans' seventh-place team finish in an event that included nine Division I schools.
Her recent performance marked an improvement over last year's Redbird Invite where she finished in 52nd place with a time of 23:43.70. Her current time is also noted as the fastest for any CCIW runner this season over six kilometers.
Looking ahead, Chudy and her team are set to compete at Wheaton College's Gil Dodds Invitational in Warrenville, Illinois on Saturday, September 21.
