Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer celebrates seniors against top-ranked North Central

The Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team is preparing to celebrate Senior Day on Saturday, October 21. The event will take place during their last regular season game against North Central College, ranked sixth nationally by the United Soccer Coaches. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m., with the senior day celebrations starting approximately ten minutes earlier.

Illinois Wesleyan, also known as the Titans, aims to recover from a recent defeat against Elmhurst University on October 18, where they lost 2-0. Currently, the Titans hold a record of 5-5-3 overall and 3-2-2 in conference play. Their opponent, North Central College (NCC), enters the game with a strong record of 13-1-2 and remains unbeaten in conference play with a record of 4-0-2. NCC's latest victory was a decisive 3-0 win over Millikin University.

The Titans will honor seniors Sasha Tylnyy, CJ Rodriguez, Davis Quarles, Brody Seaton, Issac Plagakis, and Ryan Miller for their contributions to the team. Together, these players have accumulated a total of 9,528 minutes on the field throughout their careers. They have collectively scored 16 goals and provided 14 assists while contributing to nine shutouts.

The history between Illinois Wesleyan and North Central dates back to 1986. The two teams have faced each other 38 times in total. In their most recent encounter on October 22, 2022, North Central defeated Illinois Wesleyan with a score of 3-2. Overall, the Titans trail in their series against NCC with a record of 19 wins, 14 losses, and five draws.
