The Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team faced a setback with a 2-0 defeat against Elmhurst University on Wednesday, October 18, at Langhorst Field in Elmhurst, Illinois. This result brought Illinois Wesleyan's season record to 5-5-3 and their conference record to 3-2-1. Meanwhile, Elmhurst improved its overall standing to 6-8-2 and their conference record to 4-2-0.

Elmhurst took an early lead approximately seven minutes into the match with a goal that opened the scoring. They extended their advantage at the 26-minute mark, securing a two-goal lead by halftime.

Despite holding Elmhurst scoreless in the second half, Illinois Wesleyan was unable to score any goals themselves. Sophomore Sam Kedzior from Cary, Illinois played the full match as goalkeeper for the Titans, making two saves while conceding two goals. The Titans managed 11 shots compared to Elmhurst's 18, with senior Isaac Plagakis from Sycamore and juniors Will McNulty from Glen Ellyn and Declan Nugent from Naperville each contributing two shots for Illinois Wesleyan.

Looking ahead, the Titans will host North Central College on Saturday, October 21 at Neis Field as part of Senior Day celebrations. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 pm kickoff following the IWU women's soccer game.
