Eight members of the Illinois Wesleyan University swimming and diving teams have been recognized for their academic achievements by being named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District list. The announcement was made on Tuesday, April 2.

The honorees include seniors Ethan Lowder, Lauren Feddersen, Sydney Dunlap, Henry Moore, Donald Tichy, and juniors Alexa Starkey, Hadley Fudge, and Lane Wagner. This marks the first time these athletes have received this distinction in their careers. Both Lowder and Feddersen have advanced to the ballot for Academic All-America due to their combined academic and athletic accomplishments.

Ethan Lowder has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA in physics while winning the CCIW Elite 26 award for three consecutive years. He also earned All-CCIW recognition with a second-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle at the CCIW Championship.

Lauren Feddersen excelled at the CCIW championships this season as a biology major. She won all her events including the 200-yard breaststroke and was named CCIW Female Swimmer of the Year.

Hadley Fudge achieved All-CCIW honors in three events at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championship as a psychology major. Her notable performances included second place finishes in both the 200-yard backstroke and 100-yard breaststroke.

Donald Tichy contributed significantly to his team as an accounting major by being part of a record-breaking 200-yard medley relay team.

Henry Moore competed in all freestyle events during the CCIW championships as a biology major with his best performance being eighth place in the 1650-yard freestyle.

Lane Wagner participated impressively during the CCIW Championship as a finance major but narrowly missed securing an All-CCIW position with fourth place in the 400-yard IM.

Sydney Dunlap improved her times throughout multiple events at this year's championship while pursuing elementary education studies.

Alexa Starkey competed across various freestyle categories finishing seventh, eleventh, and sixth respectively at different distances while studying elementary education.

The results for Academic All-America will be announced on April 23 for men and April 24 for women.
