The Illinois Wesleyan University men's volleyball team is set to face Dominican University on Tuesday, February 20, at the Igini Sports Forum in River Forest, Illinois. The Titans, who currently hold an 8-5 record, are coming off a victory against Fontbonne University, marking their first win over the Griffins since the series began in 2021.
In their last match on February 15, senior Micheal Eastman led with 13 kills, while freshman Bryce Williams added 12 kills and eight digs. Junior Vince DiCosola contributed significantly with 17 assists. Freshman Brenden Reutter recorded a double-double performance with 15 assists and 11 digs.
Eastman has been a key player for the Titans this season with a total of 140 kills and an attack percentage of .273. He also became the first Titan to achieve over 100 career aces. Williams follows closely with 111 kills, and junior Jake Kougan completes the top three hitters with 78 kills.
DiCosola has orchestrated much of the team's offense this season, leading with 201 assists. Reutter has also made a strong impact as a freshman with 182 assists. On defense, sophomore Jace Milka leads with 122 digs. Eastman and Williams follow him in defensive stats.
The upcoming game will be the third meeting between IWU and Dominican University (4-6). The Stars have won both previous encounters against IWU. Their most recent victory was on February 15, 2023.
A unique aspect of this match is that Jake Kougan will compete against his twin brother Jason Kougan from Dominican University. The Stars recently faced a loss against the University of California Santa Cruz.
