Illinois Wesleyan faces unbeaten Loras in crucial CCIW volleyball matchup

The Illinois Wesleyan University men's volleyball team is set to face Loras College in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) match on Wednesday, March 20. The game will take place at the Lillis Athletic & Wellness Center, which is also the venue for the 2024 NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball National Championship.

Illinois Wesleyan's Titans, currently holding a record of 10-10 overall and 1-4 in the CCIW, are coming off a three-set loss against North Central College. In that match, senior Michael Eastman led with 11 kills and five digs. Junior Vince DiCosola contributed 18 assists, while junior Jake Kougan recorded four blocks.

Eastman has been pivotal for the Titans this season with 200 kills and an average of 3.23 per set. Freshman Bryce Williams follows with 141 kills, and Kougan adds another 99 to the team's tally. Eastman also leads in service aces with 22.

DiCosola and freshman Brenden Reutter have been instrumental in orchestrating the offense, with DiCosola leading at 309 assists and Reutter following closely with 249. On defense, sophomore Jace Milka tops the team in digs with a total of 172.

Loras College remains undefeated this season at 18-0 overall and holds a perfect conference record of 5-0. They recently secured a victory over Augustana College on March 13. Historically, Loras has dominated past encounters against Illinois Wesleyan.
