The Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team faced a defeat against North Central College on Wednesday night, October 23. The match was part of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin competition. With this result, the Titans' overall record is now 9-2-3, and their conference play stands at 3-2-1. Meanwhile, North Central's record improved to 7-4-4 overall and 3-2-1 in the league.

During the first half, both teams had an evenly matched performance. North Central College earned five corner kicks compared to Illinois Wesleyan's three, while the Titans took six shots against the Cardinals' three. Junior goalkeeper Sam Kedzior from Cary, Illinois managed a crucial save to prevent a goal from North Central during this period.

The Cardinals scored first in the 61st minute of the game. It wasn't until the 85th minute that juniors Logan Tierney from Bloomington, Illinois and Kalabi Kamau from Alpharetta, Georgia collaborated for a goal that brought Illinois Wesleyan back into contention.

Kamau skillfully maneuvered downfield past his defender before crossing into the box where Tierney was ready to score with a precise kick into the bottom left corner of the net, leveling the score at 1-1.

Despite gaining momentum after this equalizer, an own goal by Illinois Wesleyan handed North Central a decisive lead at 2-1 with only one minute remaining in play.

Goalkeeper Kedzior finished with three saves out of seven shots faced, including four on target.

Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer will prepare for their senior day match scheduled for Saturday, October 26 at Neis Field against Carroll University. The women's soccer team will also compete earlier that day as part of a doubleheader event.
