The Illinois Wesleyan University women's volleyball team has received significant recognition in the All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) awards. Announced by the league office, four players from the team were named to the All-CCIW Teams, with additional accolades for their performances.
Juniors Taylor French and Hannah Tellor earned First Team All-CCIW honors. French was also named CCIW Offensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Freshman Alex Bardouniotis was recognized as the First-Year Student-Athlete of the Year. Senior Abby Erdman received the CCIW RESPECT award.
Head Coach Kim Nelson-Brown was honored as CCIW Coach of the Year after leading her team to an undefeated 8-0 record in conference play, securing their first outright CCIW Regular Season Championship since 2021. This marks Nelson-Brown's fourth time receiving this award, having previously won it in 2003, 2018, and 2021.
French's performance this season included leading the conference in kills with a total of 134 and maintaining an average of 4.47 kills per set. She also topped the league with 22 aces and scored a total of 163 points.
Tellor achieved All-CCIW honors for her first time following her transfer to IWU, recording a .326 attack percentage and contributing significantly to her team's offense with 63 kills.
Kannyn Boyd made Second Team All-CCIW after transferring to IWU, playing a key role in defense with a team-leading 139 digs.
Sophomore Sophia Feeney also earned Second Team honors by leading her team with 141 assists while contributing defensively with 59 digs.
Bardouniotis' freshman year saw her tying for second-most aces in conference play and ranking high on her team for kills and digs.
Illinois Wesleyan is preparing for its upcoming CCIW Semifinal contest against either North Central College or North Park University on November 14 at Shirk Center.
