City of Chenoa Zoning Board met Nov. 4.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The regular meeting of the Chenoa Zoning Board of Appeals was held at City Hall at 6:30pm. Present were: Don Schultheis,Larry Leggett, Bobbi Ludwig and Dan Boian.

Tonight the first item was the hearing for the change of zoning for Jay Bell on the 104 S. Fourth property. The request is to change from R-2 to 1-1 to allow him to remove the existing home and still be in compliance with city code. The property is contiguous with existing 1-1 property so is not spot zoning. The board voted unanimously to recommend to the city council to approve this zoning change.

We then discussed the proposed apartment building from Zach Anderson. This was discussion only as nothing has been published. The board felt that the apartment would be eligible for consideration for the special use permit which he is requesting. It all looked alright, but if too much of the lot were to be blacktopped there could be excessive ground coverage.

We discussed and agreed with the new special use categories which the city council approved at their last meeting concerning camper/trailer/motor home uses.

Mayor Shane attended our meeting and told us that he would speak with the city clerk to make a form for container usage to have approved by the city attorney.
