The Illinois Wesleyan University men's volleyball team is set to host its second home triangular of the season on Saturday, February 1. The IWU Triangular II will see the Titans, with a current record of 6-1, competing against Illinois Institute of Technology (0-3) and Trine University (3-4). The Titans will play IIT at 11 a.m. and face Trine at 4 p.m., with a neutral match between the visiting teams scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

The Titans come into this weekend's games following a victory over Concordia University Chicago on Thursday night, January 30. This win extended their best start in program history. In that match, the team set a new program record for blocks in a three-set match with 12. Freshman Gavin Rohlwing from Tower Lake achieved nine blocks, marking a career-high and the second-most in any contest in the program's history. Trey Marek led the offense with eight kills, while Patrick Dasbach contributed seven kills with an attack percentage of .417.

Offensively, Rohlwing leads Illinois Wesleyan with 47 kills at an average of 2.04 per set and an attack rate of .345. Bryce Williams follows with 40 kills at an average of 2.50 per set, while Ryan Myers ranks third with 30 kills. Williams and Brenden Reutter lead the team in aces with seven each.

Vince DiCosola and Reutter have been instrumental in orchestrating much of the Titan offense this season. DiCosola has recorded 98 assists averaging 4.08 per set, closely followed by Reutter who has tallied up to 90 assists at an average of 3.45 per set.

Defensively, IWU's strong net presence has limited opponents to a .128 attack percentage this season. The Titans are ranked seventh nationally in blocks per set and lead their conference with an average of 2.48 blocks per set. Rohlwing leads his team and ranks thirteenth nationally in blocking statistics.

In past encounters, IWU holds one win against IIT out of two matches played between them so far; they last met on February 6th last year when IWU won after five sets where Williams led scoring alongside Mike Eastman who now serves as assistant coach for IWU.

Trine University presents another challenge having previously defeated IWU during their first meeting last year inside Shirk Center despite significant performances from Eastman and Williams then too.

All matches during this triangular event will be available via live stream commentary provided by Kaylee Unruh along with women's volleyball player Alex Bardouniotis offering insights throughout each game broadcasted online alongside real-time statistical updates accessible through designated platforms linked accordingly for audience convenience.
