The Illinois Wesleyan University baseball team began their season with a doubleheader against Grinnell College at Robert E. Smith Field in Greenville, Illinois, on February 23, 2025. The Titans split the games with the Pioneers, leaving both teams with a record of 1-1.

In the first game, Illinois Wesleyan took an early lead thanks to senior Tristan Figus and junior Jack Flagg. The Titans continued to score throughout the innings, ultimately winning 16-5. Senior pitcher Brady Hartman secured his first win of the season. The team set a new single-game doubles record with 11 doubles, surpassing the previous record of eight set in 2007.

The second game saw Grinnell dominate after three scoreless innings, scoring six runs in the fourth inning. Despite efforts from IWU players like sophomore Jack Novak and senior Tyler Woltman, Grinnell finished strong with a final score of 12-4.

Junior Will Davidsmeier took the loss for IWU in the second game. The Titans will face Greenville University next on February 24 at Robert E. Smith Field.
