The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team faced a setback in their match against Greenville University, resulting in a 6-1 loss on Saturday night. This defeat brings IWU's record to 2-5, while Greenville improves to 8-3.
Junior Ben Vigneri was the sole victor for IWU, securing a win at No. 2 singles. After losing the first set 6-4, Vigneri rallied to win the second set with the same score and triumphed in the super tiebreaker with a score of 13-11.
Looking ahead, the Titans are preparing for their annual spring break trip from March 10 to March 13. They will travel to Gulf Shores, Alabama, where they will face the University of Saint Thomas (Texas) at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 10.
In singles competition: Andres Sanchez defeated Ian Turnbull; Ben Vigneri overcame Rafael Rodriguez; Colton Hulme bested Ryan McCoy; Francisco Trujillo won against Thad Dillow; Jean Sanabria beat Griffin Hammond; and Clark Kent triumphed over Chase Tomecki.
