Illinois State University's baseball team faced a setback in their midweek game against Oral Roberts University, with the Golden Eagles securing a 5-3 victory. The game took place on Wednesday in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The Redbirds started strong with home runs from Judah Morris and Graham Mastros, giving them an early 2-0 lead in the second inning. However, Oral Roberts responded quickly with a leadoff home run in the bottom of the same inning, reducing the deficit to 2-1.

Oral Roberts gained momentum in the fifth inning with an RBI double and single, taking a 3-2 lead. They extended their advantage further in the sixth inning through a two-run RBI single, making it 5-2.

In the seventh inning, Illinois State's Shai Robinson hit a solo home run to narrow the gap to 5-3. Despite this effort, Illinois State could not overcome Oral Roberts' lead.

Key performances for Illinois State included Kyle Gibson reaching base for his tenth consecutive game and Tyrelle Chadwick starting as pitcher for five innings. The team's second to fourth hitters collectively achieved eight hits out of fifteen attempts.
