Illinois State University is set to commence its spring football training on March 4 at Hancock Stadium. Coverage of the camp will be available on GoRedbirds.com, featuring reports, video highlights, and photos. Additionally, updates will be shared on Redbird Football's social media platforms including X (@RedbirdFB), Instagram (@isuredbirdfb), and Facebook.
The team is under the leadership of head coach Brock Spack, who is entering his 17th season. During his tenure, Spack has achieved an overall record of 111-74 and a conference record of 70-54 in Missouri Valley Football Conference play. Notably, the Redbirds reached the FCS National Championship game in 2014 with a 13-2 record.
In 2024, Spack was named a finalist for the Stats Perform Eddie Robinson Award for the third time. This award recognizes the national coach of the year in Division I FCS college football. Under his guidance last season, Illinois State posted a 10-4 overall record and advanced to the second round of the FCS Playoffs after defeating Southeast Missouri State but falling to UC Davis.
Practices will take place every Tuesday and Thursday morning at Hancock Stadium, with Saturday sessions scheduled as well. All practices are open to public viewing except for scrimmages on March 29 and April 5. The Spring Showcase scrimmage will occur on April 12 at 1 p.m., broadcast live on AM 1230 WJBC.
