The Illinois Wesleyan University baseball team is preparing for an upcoming series against Augustana College. The team will travel to Rock Island, Illinois for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 12. The matchup will conclude at Horenberger Field on Sunday, April 13.

The Titans recently achieved a midweek victory against Monmouth College, winning 13-3 in seven innings. The team's performance included 13 runs on 11 hits, featuring four doubles, with solid defense that recorded no errors. Senior Cade Tomhave had a strong showing, going 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs, and a run scored. Another standout was senior Justin Gadomski, who had two hits and a game-high four RBIs. Junior Gage Wolfe contributed by going 2-for-4, adding a run and two score outputs.

Illinois Wesleyan currently leads the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin in batting average, posting a .343 mark, which ranks sixth in Division III. Tomhave leads the conference in on base percentage with a .560, while Gadomski has the top slugging percentage at .708. Both players are in the top five for batting averages within the league.

The upcoming games continue a long-standing rivalry between IWU and Augustana, dating back to 1988. The Titans have a slight edge in the historical matchup, leading the series 73-64. Illinois Wesleyan swept last season's series, winning both games.
