The Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team is set to embark on a spring break trip with two games scheduled in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Titans will face off against Colorado College on Wednesday, March 12 at 6 p.m. MT at Washburn Field. They will then play a neutral site game against Ursinus College on Friday, March 14.

Illinois Wesleyan enters the week with an unbeaten record of 6-0 after defeating Wabash 11-6 on March 5. In that game, fifth-year players Gage Black and Ike Eastburn each scored three goals, while Bob Boone contributed two goals and an assist. Senior Nick Schroeder excelled with six ground balls and won 11 out of 16 faceoffs.

Junior Billy McHugh led the team defensively with five caused turnovers and five ground balls. Senior goalkeeper Colin Tervo made seven saves, achieving a .538 save percentage.

The Titans' defense has been a strong point this season, limiting opponents to just 52 goals while scoring 83 themselves over six games. They rank nationally in several categories: 15th in ground balls (233), and they lead the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) with an average of 12.83 caused turnovers per game.

In terms of faceoff win percentage, IWU ranks 21st nationally (.699), largely due to Schroeder's individual performance ranking him at .700 in Division III. Sophomore Timothy McHugh leads the CCIW in assists per game (3.50) and ranks eighth nationally in Division III.

Colorado College hosts Wednesday's match-up holding a record of 4-3 after their recent loss to No.17 St. John Fisher by a score of 14-8.

This meeting marks the third encounter between IWU and Colorado College, with Illinois Wesleyan leading the series at 2-0. Last season's close contest saw Illinois Wesleyan secure a victory over Colorado College with a scoreline of 17-15 in Colorado Springs.
