The Illinois Wesleyan University baseball team faced a challenging game against Haverford College, resulting in a 13-10 loss on Wednesday, March 12. The Titans' record now stands at 4-5 for the season, while the Fords improved to 6-3.

During the game held in Fort Myers, Florida, Illinois Wesleyan managed to produce ten hits. However, Haverford outperformed them with eighteen hits in total. Among the standout players for the Titans were Gage Wolfe from Bloomington, Illinois, who went 2-for-3 with a double and scored one run. Senior Cade Tomhave from Pittsfield had a productive day as well with three RBIs and two runs scored during his 2-for-6 performance. Jimmy Gurgone from Mokena also contributed significantly by driving in three runs as part of his 2-for-3 day at bat.

The pitching staff for Illinois Wesleyan saw four players take the mound. Junior Will Davidsmeier started and pitched five innings without earning a decision; he struck out seven but allowed six runs on seven hits. Freshman Cole Benson took over for 1.2 innings and was charged with the loss. Other pitchers included freshman Micheal Gurgone and sophomore Marshall Ingold.

Haverford initially led by scoring three runs in the first inning before Illinois Wesleyan tied it up by scoring in both the second and third innings. Despite efforts to maintain momentum through subsequent innings, including tying up again at six-all after some errors from Haverford's side helped them score three more times during their sixth inning turn at-bat—the seventh inning proved decisive when Haverford added six more runs making it difficult for IWU to catch up despite narrowing down later gaps via further plays like sacrifice flies or bases-loaded situations which yielded limited success ultimately leading towards final scoreboard showing favorably toward opponents instead this time around though certainly not without effort being made across board throughout entirety contest itself overall speaking here today indeed...
