The Illinois Wesleyan University baseball team secured a victory against Skidmore College on March 13 in Fort Myers, Florida. The Titans maintained the lead throughout the game, winning with a score of 5-3. This win brought Illinois Wesleyan's record to an even 5-5 while Skidmore College fell to 3-3-1.

Illinois Wesleyan recorded 14 hits compared to Skidmore's seven and made 27 putouts along with six assists. Senior Justin Gadomski from Schaumburg, Illinois, contributed significantly by going three-for-four at bat, adding two runs and a walk. Another senior, Casey Swanson from Minooka, Illinois, went two-for-four with two runs batted in, two runs scored, and one home run.

Junior Jake Pullam from Palatine, Illinois started as the pitcher for the Titans and extended his winning streak to 3-0 this season. He pitched five innings and achieved six strikeouts. Sophomore Caleb Martinez from Wheeling, Illinois served as the relief pitcher with three strikeouts and earned his first save of the season.

The Titans initiated scoring early with two runs in the top of the first inning. Senior Tristan Figus from Arlington Heights got on base with a walk followed by Gadomski’s single which placed runners on first and second bases. With one out remaining, senior Jimmy Gurgone singled through left field loading the bases. Senior Tyler Woltman then hit up the middle allowing Figus and Gadomski to score for a 2-0 lead.

Swanson added another run in the third inning hitting his second career home run making it 3-0 for IWU entering into fourth inning play where Skidmore managed to score twice narrowing their deficit to one run at 3-2.

In response during fifth inning action Swanson singled before advancing due to Woltman's sacrifice bunt placing him closer towards scoring position; freshman Ben Ford capitalized splitting right-center field enabling Swanson ample time reaching home plate extending IWU’s lead further at four-to-two mark heading into subsequent frames until finalizing eighth-inning scores increasing advantage eventually securing win ending match favorably five-to-three outcome sealing success over Thoroughbreds concluding competition proceedings therein without yielding any additional gains forthcoming otherwise thereafter completing contest ultimately therein accordingly resulting finally altogether conclusively thusly herewith hitherto moreover furthermore notwithstanding henceforth
