Illinois State University's gymnastics team will honor six seniors during their final home meet of the regular season. The Redbirds are set to compete against Southeast Missouri State on Saturday at 5 p.m. in CEFCU Arena.
The upcoming match marks the third meeting between Illinois State and Southeast Missouri State this season. Fans can follow the event through live stats on Virtius and a live stream on ESPN+.
Head Coach Bob Conkling expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, "We are looking forward to another home meet at CEFCU on Saturday night. We hope to see a lot of fans come out to help us celebrate our wonderful senior class in their final meet at home."
Illinois State currently holds the No. 42 spot in the national rankings according to Road To Nationals, with notable positions of No. 28 on floor and No. 27 on vault. In their recent competition against Minnesota, ranked No. 15 nationally, ISU scored 195.200 points.
Senior Alana Laster stands out as a key performer for Illinois State, tying for No. 34 nationally on vault with strong prospects for postseason participation. Jaye Mack also delivered an impressive performance against Minnesota, securing second place on vault with a score of 9.900.
The Redbirds will recognize seniors Kaitlyn Donovan, Julia Heiner, Alana Laster, Jaye Mack, Mya Robinson, and Sara Wabi during Senior Night festivities.
Southeast Missouri ranks No. 59 nationally and achieved a score of 194.200 in their last competition at the Show Me Center against Greenville's score of 189.025.
Key performers for Southeast Missouri include Taylor Ingle who won her fourth all-around title this year with a score of 38.450 and led in both floor (2nd Overall) and bars (1st Overall). Madison Greene excelled on vault (1st Overall), while Nyah Reader took first place for beam (1st overall).
