The Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team is set to face Calvin University in a midweek match on March 19. The game will take place at Zuidema Field in Grand Rapids, Michigan, starting at 4 p.m. ET.

The Titans, currently holding a 3-3 record, are looking to bounce back after a 17-3 defeat against McDaniel College on March 9. In that game, sophomore Chloe Heyl contributed with one goal and an assist. Senior Avery Setzler led with three draw controls, while freshman Cassie Fischmann picked up two ground balls. Senior Lizzie Rymarcsuk made ten saves as the team's goalkeeper.

Senior Mia Fiandaca leads the Titans with 15 goals this season. Setzler follows with 14 points from 11 goals and three assists, while junior Carleigh Fountain has nine goals and four assists totaling 13 points. Freshman Maddie Gibson tops the team with six assists.

Fiandaca also leads in ground balls and draw controls, boasting totals of 30 and 25 respectively. Her average of six ground balls per game ranks fifth in Division III and first in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW). Setzler and Newton follow closely behind in both categories.

Defensively, Fiandaca averages a national-leading 6.20 caused turnovers per game with a total of 31 this season. Newton and freshman Brooke Ayres have each forced eleven turnovers, contributing to the team's average of sixteen caused turnovers per game, which ranks ninth nationally.

In goalkeeping duties, Rymarcsuk has logged significant minutes with a .418 save percentage over her tenure this season. Freshman Marli Brown has also seen action between the posts.

This matchup marks the third meeting between IWU and Calvin, with IWU winning both previous encounters. Their last contest ended in a narrow 14-12 victory for the Titans on March 20, 2024.

Calvin comes into this match following a win over Southwestern University on March 12. The game will be available via live stream through Calvin's platform.
