Illinois State women's tennis prepares for I-74 rivalry against Bradley

The Illinois State women's tennis team is set to face Bradley University in an I-74 rivalry match on Saturday, March 22. The competition will take place at the Markin Tennis Courts with the first serve scheduled for 1 p.m.

In their previous outing, Illinois State defeated Chicago State with a commanding 7-0 victory. This win improved their all-time series record against Chicago State to 10-0 since 2016. In doubles, the No. 1 pair of junior Lana Caculovic and freshman Nicole Iosio secured a 6-1 win. Freshman Emma Lindh and graduate student Elena Jankulovska achieved a perfect 6-0 victory at the No. 2 position.

During singles play, Illinois State won four matches in straight sets. Junior Lana Caculovic clinched a 6-4, 6-1 win over Mackenzie King of Chicago State at the No.1 position. Additionally, Chicago State forfeited two matches, allowing Illinois State to claim all six singles victories.

Bradley University recently lost to the University of Omaha with a score of 6-1 on March 8. Their sole victory was by Mariia Pukhina who triumphed over Khayli Buckels at No.2 with scores of 6-4, 7-5.

Following this match against Bradley, Illinois State will resume outdoor play with consecutive matches on March 29 against UNI and March 30 when they host the Drake Bulldogs at Gregory Street Tennis Courts.
