This upcoming game marks the eighth matchup between the two teams and their third encounter in the postseason. The teams previously faced off in the WNIT in 2009, with the Redbirds winning 73-59. Additionally, the Redbirds experienced a defeat against Louisiana Tech in the 1985 NCAA Tournament, with a final score of 81-57.
The winner of Monday's game will have the opportunity to advance to the WNIT Fab 4, where they will compete against either North Dakota State or Troy. The particulars of this future matchup are yet to be confirmed.
According to the WNIT, the 2024 field consists of a 48-team lineup, including 11 teams that automatically qualified and 37 teams selected at-large.
