Redbirds to compete in Memphis Intercollegiate hosted by Old Dominick

The Illinois State Redbirds will participate in the Memphis Intercollegiate: Spirited by Old Dominick golf competition, marking the final event of their 2024-25 season. This tournament will be held at the Colonial Country Club in Cordova, Tennessee, from March 31 to April 1.

The Memphis Intercollegiate features a par-72 course with a yardage of 7,141. Teams participating include nationally ranked universities such as Illinois, Tennessee, and Memphis, as well as other institutions like Southern Miss, Austin Peay, and Central Arkansas. Illinois maintains the highest national ranking at number 10, while other competitors include schools like Samford, Belmont, and Missouri State.

Representing Illinois State are golfers TJ Barger, Alex McCulla, Will Troy, Pietro Pontiggia, and Max Faucquez. They will commence with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.

The Colonial Country Club's South Course is acclaimed for its quality and historic relevance. It has hosted over 30 PGA Tour events and is recognized as one of the top golf courses in Tennessee. Notably, the site is famed for Al Geiberger's "59" score, which was a PGA Tour record, and a hole-in-one by President Gerald Ford during the 1977 Danny Thomas Classic.
