On March 30, 2025, the Illinois Wesleyan University softball team achieved a sweep over Lake Forest College at the IWU Invite I in Bloomington, Illinois. With five home runs and a perfect game by junior pitcher Gianna Certa, the Titans took the first game 8-7 and dominated the second 11-0 in six innings.

Certa's perfect game marked a significant milestone as it was the first for the Titans since 2020 when Ally Wiegand accomplished the feat. "The dominant performance secured IWU a sweep on the alma mater of Titan pitching coach Nikki Miller on Miller's birthday."

During the first game, Illinois Wesleyan responded swiftly to Lake Forest's initial lead, tying the score in the first inning. Junior Claire Post and sophomore Hailey Milgazo played critical roles in securing the Titans' offensive edge. "Post continued to thwart Lake Forest's baserunning efforts," demonstrating strong defensive skills, while Milgazo's performance contributed significantly with three hits and four RBIs.

In the second game, home runs by senior Ava Khoury and senior Jen Kuhn pushed the Titans into the lead. Certa displayed prowess on the field, recording six strikeouts and achieving her perfect game. "Khoury went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and six driven in," with her six RBIs tying for second-most in IWU history.

The Titans are set to face the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on April 2, with the game scheduled for 2 p.m.
