The Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU) men's golf team is set to host a substantial collegiate golf event this weekend in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois. The tournament, known as the IWU Invite, will feature a large field of 228 players, including 39 teams and 34 individual participants. This two-day event will take place on April 4-5, with games split between Ironwood Golf Course and Weibring Golf Course.
Participating teams are expected to include Illinois Wesleyan, UW-Eau Claire, Carleton, Bethel, Gustavus, and several others. The schedule for the tournament will see some teams playing at Ironwood on Friday, while others will tee off at Weibring. The groups will switch locations for the Saturday rounds.
The Titans have organized three teams and will also present two individual players. The participation includes senior Griffin Pohl, juniors Michael Spitzer and Aidan Healy, and freshman Pablo Castro among others. The team is divided into 'A', 'B', and 'C' squads which feature a mix of seniors, juniors, and freshmen from various high schools. Individuals like junior Josh Pehl and Tug Schwab will compete singularly.
The commencement of the tournament is scheduled for Friday, April 4. The initial round will begin at Weibring with a shotgun start at 12 p.m. Concurrently, players at Ironwood will start at 12:30 p.m. On Saturday, rounds will start at 9 a.m. at Weibring and 9:30 a.m. at Ironwood.
