Illinois State secures narrow victory over Missouri State in tennis

The Illinois State Redbirds women's tennis team secured a 4-3 win over the Missouri State Bears in a competitive match held at the Cooper Tennis Complex, Springfield, Missouri. The victory improves the Illinois State's record to 4-1 in the Missouri Valley Conference and 11-6 overall, while Missouri State falls to 3-15 overall and 2-2 in the MVC.

The Redbirds gained the initial advantage by capturing the doubles point. Freshman Emma Lindh and graduate student Elena Jankulovska outperformed the Bears' Sandra Lukacova and Raluca Puscas with a 6-3 win. Meanwhile, the duo of freshman Nicole Iosio and junior Zoe Limparis defeated Lola Federski and Romy Pola of Missouri State, also by a 6-3 score.

In singles matches, Illinois State notched three victories. Junior Lana Caculovic won against Billur Gonlusen with straight sets of 6-2, 6-3. Nicole Iosio overcame Romy Pols 6-2, 6-3, while Sophie Marie Lowe had a dominant performance against Lola Federski, claiming a 6-0, 6-0 win.
