The Illinois Wesleyan University softball team is set for a doubleheader against Millikin University on Tuesday, April 15 in Decatur, Illinois. The two teams will face off at the Workman Family Softball Field, with the first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m.

Illinois Wesleyan enters the games following their successful start in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW), where they recently swept North Park. They secured a 9-0 win in the first game and a no-hitter victory 2-0 in the second game. The Titans hold a 17-7 record for the season and are 2-0 in CCIW play. Their opponents, Millikin, also come into Tuesday’s matchup on a high note after defeating Wheaton. Millikin boasts a 16-10 record overall, with a 4-2 record in league play.

Seniors Jen Kuhn and Ava Khoury lead Illinois Wesleyan's offense. Kuhn maintains a batting average of .476, positioning her at the top for hits, doubles, runs scored, and RBIs for the team. Khoury supports with a .361 average and 23 RBIs. Other top performers include freshmen Grace Wilkens and Bella Pinter, alongside juniors Claire Post and Casey Wissmiller, all holding averages above .300.

In terms of pitching, the Titans have a strong rotation. Junior Gianna Certa has a 9-2 record; her achievements include a one-hit shutout with North Park. She also leads the team with 41 strikeouts. Sophomore Mallory Holland and freshman Maddie Pool are among the vital contributors in the pitching lineup.

Historically, Illinois Wesleyan and Millikin have faced each other 75 times, with the Titans leading 51-24 in the all-time series. However, the most recent encounters between the teams have been more competitive, with Illinois Wesleyan slightly ahead with a 10-8 record over the last 18 games.
