Illinois Wesleyan men's tennis aims for win over North Central

Illinois Wesleyan University's men's tennis team is preparing for its final regular-season away match. The Titans are set to face North Central College in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) contest on Saturday morning, April 19. The match will be held at the Naperville Tennis Club and is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.

The Titans currently hold an overall record of 5-11 and a CCIW play record of 1-4. Their most recent match resulted in a 6-1 loss to Millikin University on Wednesday, April 16. The lone point for Illinois Wesleyan was secured by junior Ian Turnbull, a Bloomington native, who won his No. 1 singles match with scores of 6-2, 6-3.

Since the series' inception in 1990, Illinois Wesleyan leads with a 24-15 record against North Central. However, they are seeking their first victory over the Cardinals since 2015. In their last meeting, the Titans were defeated 9-0 on April 12, 2024. North Central enters this match following a recent 7-0 victory over Elmhurst University on Wednesday, April 16.
