At the annual end-of-year banquet, the Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team announced its team awards and letter winners. Sophomore Amber Ehrlich was named the team's Most Valuable Player for the second consecutive season. Head coach Jason Van Heuklon awarded letters to all nine members of the team.
Ehrlich earned her second All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Second Team honor. She led the team at No. 1 singles and doubles throughout the year, appearing in all 20 dual matches and the ITA Regional Tournament. Her overall singles record was 9-12, with a 3-5 mark in CCIW action, including a 9-10 record in the top individual spot. In doubles play, she achieved an overall record of 13-8, partnering primarily with sophomore Olivia Bell.
Senior Andie Wilson received the team's Most Improved Player award in her final season. Wilson participated in 11 dual matches, recording a singles competition record of 3-4, including two wins at No. 5 singles. In doubles action, she posted a 3-6 record at No. 3 doubles.
The team tied for its most wins since the 2012-13 season with an overall record of 8-12. Coach Van Heuklon will return seven of his nine letterwinners for the next campaign.
First Letter recipients included Gabi Lipske, Katie Van Heuklon, and Angela Zatloka. Second Letter recipients were Amber Ehrlich, Olivia Bell, and Carly Edwards. Third Letter recipients were Marianna Arias, Kate Christian, and Andie Wilson.
