City of Pontiac Finance and Administration Committee met April 30.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The Finance & Administration Committee meeting of the Pontiac City Council was held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

Alderman Lee called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm

The City Administrator took roll, and the following members were present: Lee, and Howard. Also present were Mayor Alvey, Wille, Barr, and Cranford, Street Superintendent Brock, and Building and Zoning Director Knowles.

Riverside Mobile Home Park: The Committee discussed the status of the park. Many trailers appear uninhabitable. It is under a boil order by the IEPA for low water pressure. The owners/managers are not responding to city communications and the IDPH has acknowledged an FOIA request for licensing status, but extended the time. The Committee heard from Kurt Slayback. Kurt stated he works for Tiger Services out of Bloomington but lives out by the Sportsman's Club. He has worked for Jade Martin numerous times at Riverside and knows the waterline layout well. He stated he knows of at least 6 leaks in the water line and the lines are galvanized. He stated plumbing code requires those be replaced, not repaired. He added that he knows the sewer system to be unserviceable as well as gas leaks. He stated Martin would answer his calls and requested Kurt call him after the meeting. Kurt was advised the City would not use him as pass between and that he could relay to Martin that Martin needed to contact the City to resolve the issues. It was determined the best course of action was to document violations and for the City to be prepared to take legal action regarding plumbing code and existing residential code violations and to address living conditions in the park. Slayback stated he would call Jade and relay to him to contact the City Administrator directly.
